COLUMBUS – The wheels came off for a half-inning in the second game of a Sunday doubleheader, but the Clippers still took three of four games from the Syracuse Chiefs over the weekend to finish a seven-game home stand with a 5-2 record.
Columbus won the first game of the twin bill 3-0 with all of the runs coming on Lonnie Chisenhall’s three-run homer in the third inning.
Dustin Molleken (5-1) got the win whileShawn Armstrong picked up his seventh save of the season.
Things went badly for starter Joulis Chacin (1-3) in the bottom of the fourth inning of the second game when a wild pitch and two error, one by Chacin, helped the Chiefs score 4 runs on their way to a 7-4 victory.
The Clippers kick off a seven-game road trip Monday ngiht in Norfolk.
