Clippers 3-8, Tides 4-7

NORFOLK – Columbus rallied late in game two of a double header to knock off Norfolk, 8-7, and avoid a three-game sweep by the Tides.

The game was tied at 7-7 in the ninth when the Clippers scored the game-winning run on an RBI double by Ronny Rodriguez, who led the 14-hit attack by Columbus and finished a home run short of hitting for the cycle.

Mike Yastzemski’s walk-off home run in the last of the seventh gave Norfolk a 4-3 win in game one at Harbor Park.

After going 2-5 on their southern road trip, the Clippers return home to host IL West-leading Indianapolis Tuesday night.
