Clippers 3, Bats 0

COLUMBUS – Jarrett Grube gave up eight hits, but kept the Louisville bats from crossing the plate for more than six innings as the Clippers kicked off a three-game series in Louisville with a 3-0 win.

Columbus did all the scoring in the 3rd inning.

After moving to third base, thanks to a throwing error on Ryan Rohlinger’s sacrifice bunt, Audy Ciriaco scored on an infield single by Justin Toole. Jesus Aguilar doubled to left to bring Rohlinger and Toole home.

Over 6 2/3 innings on the mound, Grube (5-0) struck out five hitters and walked just two.

The second game of the series is scheduled for Wednesday night.
