Clippers 3, Bulls 2

DURHAM, N.C. – Richie Shaffer’s two-run home run in the second inning gave the Clippers a 3-2 win in the second game of their series in Durham Tuesday night.

The Bulls took an early 2-1 lead before Shaffer launched his 7th homer of the season over the Blue Monster at Durham Bulls Athletic Park to give the Clippers the lead they needed.

Bradley Zimmer had started the scoring with a leadoff homer in the first.

Michael Peoples (1-0) picked up the victory for the Clippers while Shawn Armstrong earned his second save. Kyle Winkler (0-1) suffered the loss for Durham.

The two teams meet in the third game of their four-game set Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
