COLUMBUS – Trayce Thompson’s two-run home run in the fifth inning gave the Clippers the edge they needed to beat the Indianapolis Indians, 3-2, Thursday night completing a two-game sweep against their International League West rivals at Victory Field.
Thompson’s homer was his 19th of the season and gave Columbus a 3-0 lead on the way to their fourth straight victory over division opponents.
Aaron Civale (2-0) struck out six hitters over seven innings on the e mound to get the win.
Alex McRae (5-4) took the loss for the Indians.
The Clippers move on to Louisville for three games against the Bats starting Friday night.
