COLUMBUS – The Clippers opened a three-game series with a 3-0 win over the IronPigs Tuesday night at Coca-Cola Park before 6,029 fans.
Catcher Adam Moore hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to extend the Clippers lead to 3-0 and the Pigs never bounced back.
Clippers starter Ryan Merritt (2-1) gave up four hits and struck out five hitters in six innings of shutout ball to get the win.
The series continues with game two Wednesday night.
