Clippers 3, Red Wings 1

COLUMBUS – Pitcher Franklyn Kilome’s error allowed Gabriel Arias to score the tie-breaking run in the third inning as the Clippers’ beat the Rochester Red Wings 3-1 Saturday night at Huntington Park.

Kilome (1-3) misplayed a hit by David Fry, who advanced to third base on the play, but Red Wings right fielder David Dahl threw Will Brennan out at the plate.

The Clippers tied the score at 1-1 in the first on Bo Naylor’s solo home run.

Oscar Mercado added a solo homer in the sixth in support of starter Peyton Battenfield (7-5), who picked up the win for Columbus, who will try to complete the sweep of the six-game series on Sunday.
