OMAHA – Alex Call’s two-run home run in the eighth inning gave the Clippers a 3-2 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Field Saturday night.
Columbus was trailing when Call’s homer to left field off Gabe Speier (0-1) gave the Clippers the lead, which held up despite some bullpen shakiness.
James Karinchak (1-0) and Anthony Castro allowed four hits but Castro struck out two hitters with the bases loaded to end the game and earn his first save of the season.
David Fry drove in a run for the Clippers.
