COLUMBUS – Louisville reliever Jesus Reyes walked in the winning run for the Clippers as they rallied to beat the Bats 4-3 in the opening game of a four-game series at Louisville Slugger Field Monday night.
Louisville took a 3-2 lead with a three-run third inning but Mark Mathias scored the tying run in the fifth on a groundout by Brandon Barnes.
Reyes came on in relief of Matt Bowman (0-1) in the top of the ninth and delivered a bases-loaded walk to Jordan Juplow, bringing Mathias in with the game-winning run.
Jon Edwards (1-0) pitched the eighth inning get the win for Columbus.
