COLUMBUS, Ohio – After dropping the opening game Thursday night, the Clippers came back to win the last three games of a four-game series in Pawtucket, capped off by Sunday’s 4-1 victory.
Michael Roth (4-1) struck out seven hitters while giving up five hits and the Red Sox’ only run in 7-2/3 innings on the mound for Columbus.
The Clippers had a 1-0 lead going into the seventh inning when Francisco Lindor reached on a leadoff single, then scored on Jesus Aguilar’s single. Aguilar came home on Jerry Sands’ home run to left center field.
Having won seven of the five games on the road trip to Rochester and Pawtucket, the Clippers return to Huntington Park for seven games, starting with Buffalo Monday night.
