OMAHA – David Fry knocked in the winning run with a two-run single in the eighth inning and the Clippers won the opening game of a six-game series with the Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-2, Tuesday at Werner Park.
Peyton Battenfield (5-4) got the win after pitching six shutout innings.
Tyler Freeman scored the tying run on a Nolan Jones sacrifice before Fry sent a line drive into left field to bring Will Brennan and Alex Call around to score.
