COLUMBUS – The Clippers shut out the Louisville Bats, 5-0, in the second game of a four-game series at Huntington Park Tuesday night, eliminating Toledo from playoff contention and trimming their own magic number for clinching the International League West Division to three.
Michael People (9-5) struck out seven hitters while pitching seven shutout innings for Columbus
The Clippers jumped on Bats starter Vladimir Gutierrez (4-11) immediately, with Ka’ai Tom slamming a three-run homer to center field in the first inning.
