COLUMBUS – Ryan Flaherty’s solo home run in the seventh inning broke a 4-all tie and gave the Clippers a 5-4 win in the opening game of a four-game series against Louisville at Huntington Park Monday night.
The victory widened the Clippers’ lead over Indianapolis in the International League West Division to 11 games.
Flaherty’s two-out blast to right-center field came of losing pitcher Sal Romano (4-8).
Josh Smith (8-1) got the win for Columbus.
Eric Haase hit a two-run home run in the third inning for the Clippers.
The series resumes Tuesday night.
