COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gabriel Arias did not allow a run until the eighth inning Tuesday night as the Clippers beat the Gwinnett Braves 5-1 Tuesday night to open a 10-game road trip.
The win for Arias was his first with the Clippers against two losses. The Clippers scored four times off loser Zach Stewart (3-3).
Columbus jumped out to a quick lead on five singles in the first to take a 3-0 lead. The Clippers added another run in the sixth on an RBI single by Tyler Holt and made it a 5-1 game on another Holt single in the eighth. Game two of the series at Gwinnett will be a 6:35 p.m. Wednesday.
