COLUMBUS – Clippers starter Adam Wilk scattered six hits as Columbus beat Syracuse 5-1 Sunday night.
The Clippers won the second and third games of the three-game series.
Wilk (2-5) gave up the Chiefs’ only run but only walked one batter in his five innings on the mound.
Phillips Valdez (2-1) took the loss for Syracuse.
Brandon Barnes went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, scoring the Clippers’ first run, in the second inning. He accounted for both Columbus runs in the fifth, knocking in Lonnie Chisenhall on a double to left field, stealing third and then scoring on a bad throw by Chiefs shortstop Bengie Gonzalez.
The Clippers return home to begin a six-game home stand when Norfolk comes to Huntington Park Tuesday night.
