Clippers 5, Red Sox 4

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Despite being outhit by Pawtucket, the Clippers beat the Red Sox 5-4 Sunday evening.

Zach McAllister (5-0) got the win for Columbus. He has not allowed more than three runs in any start this season. Chris Hernandez (4-7) took the loss for Pawtucket.

The Clippers took the lead with four runs in the fifth inning, Trailing 2-1, Elliot Johnson hit a one-out two-run homer, scoring Ryan Rohlinger ahead of him.

The Red Sox got two runs back in the top of the ninth and had two runners on base, thanks to sloppy fielding by the Clippers, but Mark Lowe got his 12th save of the season when Carlos Rivero lined out to shortstop Audy Ciriaco to end the game.

Outfielder Tyler Holt was called up to Cleveland after the Indians placed leadoff hitter and center fielder Michael Bourn on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Columbus goes for win 50 Monday at Huntington Park against Pawtucket at 7:05 p.m.
