COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers cut loose for four runs in the fifth inning Thursday night to beat the Rochester Red Wings, 5-1, completing a four-game sweep at Huntington Park.
It was the Clippers’ fourth in a row, a season high.
Trevor Bauer Bauer (4-0) went 7-2/3 innings with one unearned run on two hits and nine strikeouts for the win. Scott Diamond (2-4) took the loss.
The Clippers broke out of a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run double by Jesus Aguilar and two-run home run from Giovanny Urshela.
The Clippers host the Syracuse Chiefs for four games starting Friday night at 7:15 p.m.
