Clippers 5, Red Wings 4

COLUMBUS – The Clippers beat Rochester 5-4 Sunday, earning a three-game sweep of the Minnesotsa Twins’ top farm affiliate.

Toru Murata earns his 9th win of the season.

After advancing to second base on a wild pitch by the Red Wings’ Tyler Duffey, Michael Martinez scored on Tyler Naquin’s single to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Columbus a 5-3 lead, which was enough to withstand the Rochester rally in the ninth, when Shawn Armstrong gave up a run before Carlos Marmol took over to retire the final batter and record his third save of the season.

The Clippers’ seven-game home stand continues when Indianapolis visits Huntington Park, starting with Monday night’s game.
