COLUMBUS – A tie-breaking home run by Eric Haase cleared the way for a 6-4 Clippers win over Louisville in the teams’ first game after the All-Star break.
The win brought Columbus to within 2 ½ games of second-place Indianapolis in the International League West Division.
Haase’s solo shot off Cody Reed (2-8) in the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie and his RBI single in the seventh capped a three-run inning that put the game out of reach.
The two teams resume their four-game series at Louisville Slugger Field Friday night.
