Clippers 6, Braves 4

COLUMBUS – Deadlocked in a 2-2 ball game, Clippers center fielder Bradley Zimmer launched a grand slam into the Wendy’s Hamburger Balcony in right field, giving Columbus a series tying 6-4 win over Gwinnett in front of a crowd of 8,835 at Huntington Park on Thursday night.

Jeff Johnson (1-0) picked up the win in relief for Columbus while Rob Wooten (0-1) suffered the loss for the Braves.

The Clippers and Braves will now head down to Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Ga., for the remainder of their Governor’s Cup semifinal series. First pitch Friday is set for 7:05 p.m.
