COLUMBUS – The Clippers got all the runs they needed in the opening frame of a 6-3 win over the Norfolk Tides Wednesday, avoiding a three-game sweep.
Columbus scored three runs on five singles and a walk before their first out of the game and added a fourth on a passed ball by Tides catcher Audry Perez.
Toru Murata (5-2) gave up two runs and got the win and Austin Adams recorded his fifth save of the season.
The Clippers head to Durham for four games beginning Thursday night.
