COLUMBUS – Columbus starter Peyton Battenfield allowed only three Indianapolis Indians hitters to reach base during his eight shutout innings on the mound to lead the Clippers to a 7-0 win at Huntington Park Thursday night.
Battenfield (6-5) allowed only three hits and walked nobody, facing 26 hitters before turning things over to Alex Young.
Will Benson and Richie Palacios hit solo home.runs for Columbus and combined for three RBI during the Clippers’ five-run seventh inning.
