INDIANAPOLIS – The Clippers scored five runs in the 6th en route to a 7-5 series opening win over Indianapolis in front of an audience of 6,397 at Victory Field Monday night.
Columbus scored five times on five hits and two walks in the inning while starter Shawn Haviland (1-1) delivered six innings of work, giving up one earned run on three hits, walking one and punching out seven.
The Clippers and Indians will play again Tuesday night at 7:05 in game two of their three game series.
