COLUMBUS – George Valera hit his first two home runs since being called up to Columbus and the Clippers went on to beat the Toledo Mud Hens 7-4 Friday night at Huntington Park.
Bo Naylor hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning to put Columbus ahead 4-0 and Valera followed it up with a solo shot to center field.
Valera added another home run in the eighth.
Peyton Battenfield (8-5) struck out eight over six innings to get the win.
