TOLEDO – The Clippers found some creative ways to score runs in a 7-5 win over the Mud Hens in Toledo Wednesday night, giving Columbus a 2-0 lead in a three-game series
Hens starter Cesar Ramos gave up three straight singles to Giovanny Urshela, Jesus Aguilar and Joey Butler and a two-run double to Ronny Rodriguez that put the Clippers ahead 3-0 after the 1st inning.
In the 3rd, center fielder Bradley Zimmer laid down a bunt for a single, took second on a wild pitch, stole third and scored on a wild throw by Hens catcher John Hicks.
The two teams play the finale of their series at 7:05 p.m. Thursday before returning to Huntington Park for a nine-game home stand.
