COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers turned on the offense in the middle innings to handily beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 7-0 Thursday.
After winning three of four in Pawtucket and an off day Wednesday the Clippers stayed hot on the road trip with the win going to 4-1.
Gabriel Arias (6-2) only needed 73 pitches to go seven scoreless innings. Chris Leroux (4-3) took the loss.
Dusty Brown kept his hot start with Columbus going in the third with an RBI double.
Audy Ciriaco continued his career best AAA season, hitting a two-run homer to left, his 13th.
Game two at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will be at 7:05 p.m. Friday night.
