COLUMBUS – The Clippers banged out 11 hits, including four home runs, in a 7-4 win over Pawtucket Wednesday night.
Brandon Barnes hit a two-run homer, which turned out to be the game-winner, in the fifth inning, giving Columbus a 5-0 lead.
Trayce Thompson, Bobby Bradley and and Ryan Flaherty also cleared the McCoy field fences as Clippers hitters chased Red Sox starter Jeremy Blech (0-1) after only two innings.
Sao-Ching Chiang (1-3) pitched 5 1/3 innings of one-hit ball to get his first win of the season.
The Clippers go for the sweep of the three-game series Thursday morning.
