COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers beat Rochester, 7-0, at Huntington Park Wednesday night, their third straight win at the expense of the Red Wings.
Columbus has won seven of its last 10 and is a game above .500.
The Clippers got all the runs they would need in the 2nd inning on a three-run home run to left off the bat of Roberto Perez.
Travis Banwart (2-0) allowed just three hits in six shutout innings and notched a season-high eight strikeouts. Trevor May (1-3) took the loss after allowing five runs in 4-2/3 innings.
The final game of the four-game set is Thursday at 6:35 p.m. at Huntington Park.
