OMAHA – Nolan Jones smacked an RBI double to center field to break a 4-4 tie in the top of the 10th inning and the Clippers scored two more insurance runs as they beat the Omaha Storm Chasers, 7-5 at Werner Park Wednesday.
A three-run home run by Omaha’s M.J. Melendez had erased a 4-1 deficit and tied the score in the fifth inning.
Jordan Stevens (2-0) gave up a run in the 10th but struck out five hitters in his two innings of work to get the win for Columbus while Jace Vines (5-4) was saddled with the loss.
