COLUMBUS – The Clippers recorded their first series sweep of the season this afternoon with an 8-3 victory over the Indianapolis Indians at Huntington Park.
Columbus pulled to within a game and a half of the second place Indians in the International League West standings.
Tied 3-3 in the eighth, pinch-hitter Adam Rosales cranked a two-run home run to separate the teams, powering Columbus to victory.
Robert Zarate (3-1) got the win in relief for Columbus while Damien Magnifico (1-2) took the loss.
The Clippers will travel to Fifth Third Field Monday to open a four-game series with the Mud Hens, who are atop the division with a four-game lead on Columbus.
