Clippers 8, Mud Hens 1

COLUMBUS – The Clippers unleashed an offensive attack, banging out 13 hits in an 8-1 win over the Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field Thursday night, avoiding a four-game sweep in Toledo.

Chris Narveson (6-6) went seven innings and allowed just one run on two hits.

Josh Turley (1-2) gave up eight runs in his 2 2/3 innings.

Columbus got out of the gate early, scoring five runs in the second inning and three more in the third, two of them coming on a two-out single to left field by Daniel Robertson.

After losing three out of four in Toledo, the Clippers now trail Indianapolis by 5 ½ games in International League West Division as the two teams square off for a three-game series in Indianapolis beginning Friday night.
