COLUMBUS – A three-run home run by Nellie Rodriguez gave the Clippers a lead they never relinquished on the way to a 9-7 win over the Bats in Louisville Wednesday night.
Columbus won two out of the three games they played against the Bats.
With the Bats leading 6-4 in the seventh inning, Rodriguez’s homer gave the Clippers a 7-6 lead.
The Clippers added on to their 7-6 lead when Eric Kratz hit his second two-run homerun of the night,
Shawn Morimando (6-5) got the win, allowing six runs in six innings.
Austin Ross (2-2) gave up Rodriguez’s go-ahead home run and was saddled with the loss.
The Clippers return home to Huntington Park Thursday night to begin a four-game weekend series against the Toledo Mud Hens.
