Clippers bombard Bats, 12-4

COLUMBUS – Jesus Aguilar hit a grand slam as the Clippers exploded for a 12-4 win over the Louisville Bats in the opening game of a two-game series at Huntington Park Monday night.

Aguilar’s blast to center field with one out broke a 1-1 tie and was followed up by Lonnie Chisenhall’s run on a ground ball by Zach Walters.

Adam Moore hit a two-run homer as p[art of the Clippers’ six-run sixth inning.

Jarrett Grube (4-0) got the win in relief of Josh Tomlin, who gave up only one run during his four innings on the mound.

The two teams play again Tuesday might before the home-and-home series shifts to Louisville for two games.
