Clippers catch Indians atop IL West standings

COLUMBUS – A walk-off RBI single by Michael Martinez in the 11th inning gave the Clippers a 4-3 win over Indianapolis and move them into a first place tie with the Indians atop the International League West Division.

The two teams play the second of their four-game series at Huntington Park Tuesday night.

After the Indians’ Tony Sanchez singled home Gustavo Nunez to tie the scores at 3 in the top of the fifth inning, Martinez hit a bases-loaded single to center field in the bottom of the 11th to bring Erik Gonzalez home with the winning run.

Trey Haley (2-1) pitched the final two innings in relief to pick up the win.
