Clippers clinch postseason berth

COLUMBUS – The Clippers moved into a tie atop the International League West Division standings and clinched a playoff berth with a 4-2 win over the Indianapolis Indians Wednesday night.

Columbus and Indianapolis share the top spot with five regular season games left to play, including tonight’s finale of the season series between the two division leaders.

Much like they did in Tuesday night’s victory, the Clippers jumped out early, scoring three runs in the 1st inning on back-to-back RBI base hits by Zach Walters, Adam Moore and James Ramsey. Walters collected another RBI on a sacrifice fly in the 2nd inning.

Will Roberts (3-4) gave up only one run on three hits and struck out seven hitters to get the win.
