Clippers in first place

COLUMBUS- The Clippers took over first place in the International League West with a 2-1 win over Indianapolis Wednesday night.

With the win, Columbus leads the division by one game over the Indians and has a 3 1/2-game lead on Toledo with 11 games to play.

Columbus tied the score on an Adam Rosales RBI single in the seventh inning and took the lead in the eighth when Bobby Bradley led off the inning with a triple and scored when Yu Chang lined a single to center field off losing pitcher Nick Burdi (0-2).

Henry Martinez (1-0) struck out four hitters in 1 1/3 innings of shutout work in relief of starter Adam Wilk.

The Clippers go for the series sweep Thursday night at Victory Field.
