COLUMBUS – The Clippers jumped on Indianapolis early at Huntington Park Tuesday night, topping the Indians 10-6 to make up a game on the team at the top of the standings in the International League West Division.
The Indians, who had beaten Columbus Monday night, now lead the Clippers by one game with the two teams set to play two games in Indianapolis beginning Wednesday night.
The Clippers can clinch a playoff spot with their next win or a loss by Gwinnett.
Toru Murata picked up his league leading 14th win, in spite of giving up 10 hits in 7 2/3 innings, as the Clippers got out of the gate with 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st innings.
Alex Lavisky hit a three-run home run to center field on the heels of Jesus Aguilar’s two-run double. Aguilar also added a solo homer in the 7th.
