COLUMBUS – The Clippers moved to within a half game of the Indianapolis Indians in the International League West with a 6-3 win Wednesday night at Huntington Park.
The Indians jumped out to a 3-0 lead but Columbus scored six unanswered runs on their way to their second straight win over Indianapolis with the finale of their three-gamer series Thursday night.
After waiting out a 58-minute rain delay in the first inning and falling behind, 3-0, going into the fifth, Adam Moore began the Clippers rally with a solo home run. Tyler Naquin followed up an RBI single by Yandy Diaz with a two-run home run to push Columbus in front, 4-3.
The Clippers added runs on sacrifice flies in both the seventh and eighth innings.
Chris Narveson (5-6) got the win for Columbus.
Tyler Eppler (6-7) took the loss for the Indians.
Columbus goes for the series sweep and the division lead at 7:05 p.m. Thursday night.
