Clippers win fifth straight

COLUMBUS – The Clippers beat Durham 5-2 Sunday to complete a four-game sweep of the Bulls on their home field.

The win extended the Clippers’ winning streak to five games, all on the road.

Jarrett Grube (1-0) gave up the Bulls’ runs in the first and second innings but settled down, striking out seven hitters and giving up only three hits.

The Clippers tied up the score in the fourth on back-to-back homers by James Ramsey and Carlos Moncrief, then took the lead in the sixth when Brett Hayes blooped a single to center, scoring Ramsey.

The Clippers return to Huntington Park for a six-game home stand, starting with a game against Norfolk Monday night.
