Clues sought in teen’s slaying

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police say a teen was found fatally shot in a car in the parking lot of a Northeast Side apartment building late Wednesday night.

Columbus police said they found Roland A.V. Ridenour, 18, shot to death at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Homicide detectives say patrol officers spotted a vehicle parked in the rear of 1980 Belcher Drive and stopped to investigate. They Ridenour inside, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators don’t know exactly what happened and didn’t have any suspects by early Thursday.

It was the 88th homicide of the year in the city of Columbus.
