Coleman’s convention pitch

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman is hard at work in Washington, lobbying political party leaders to bring a national convention to the city.

The mayor is using his trip to the U.S. Conference of Mayors this week to press the flesh and tell party bosses why their 2016 conventions should be held at Nationwide Arena.

Supporters of bringing a convention to Columbus say it’ll raise the city’s economic profile and reputation.
