COLUMBUS – Lower.com Field will host a match between the U.S. women’s national soccer team and Uzbekistan in April.
The U.S. will play a pair of international friendlies against Uzbekistan next month in Columbus and Pennsylvania, the first time the two sides have met. The Columbus match is scheduled for April 9 at 5:30 p.m.
This will be the 10th time the four-time World Cup champs and Olympic gold medalists have played in Columbus, but it will be their first visit to Lower.com Field.
The Columbus Crew’s home stadium recently played host to the U.S. Men’s National Team for World Cup qualifiers.
The games come as teams continue to deal with international COVID-19 restrictions, which make scheduling with opponents difficult.
Both CONCACAF and UEFA also have World Cup qualifying matches during the April window.
