COLUMBUS – A Hocking County man wanted for murder in Kentucky was captured on the South Side of Columbus Sunday afternoon.
Stanley Webb Jr., 47, of Logan, was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two women in Blaine, Ky., on Saturday night, according to the Columbus Division of Police Facebook page.
Two Columbus officers responded at approximately around 2:30 p.m. to a reported domestic dispute at a home on Ruma Road, where a relative of the caller was a suspect in the double homicide of their 79-year-old aunt and 52-year-old cousin in Kentucky and that he was driving a stolen vehicle, Columbus police said.
The family members told the dispatcher that they believed Webb was armed with a gun and trying to get into the home but said that he left the scene before the officers arrived and gave a detailed description, including the vehicle’s license number.
Patrol officers and the division’s Helicopter Unit spotted the vehicle in the area of Lockbourne and Obetz roads and a pursuit began, but police say Webb stopped before officers attempted any stopping tactics and was taking into custody.
He was held on charges of homicide and motor vehicle theft.
