COLUMBUS – Columbus Public Health Tuesday announced the second confirmed case of coronavirus in Columbus, the fourth case in Franklin County.
The Ohio Department of Health call center is open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to answer questions regarding COVID-19 at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634).

The patient is a 23-year-old female with underlying health conditions who is being treated at a hospital, health commissioner Dr. Mysheika Roberts said.

“This patient appears to be our first case of community acquired which means the source of the infection is unknown. The patient has not traveled or been exposed to anyone who has traveled to an area high in COVID-19 cases,” Roberts said.

The first case of COVID-19 in Columbus was announced on March 14, a 49-year-old man who had returned from a cruise to Mexico.
Franklin County has two additional cases, including a Columbus firefighter/EMT.
The state health department on Monday reported 50 confirmed cases in 12 counties.
