Columbus St. offers help to stranded ITT students

COLUMBUS – For hundreds of students left high and dry this week when ITT Technical Institute and American School of Technology closed their doors, there is some help, in the form of alternative classes and a little cash.

Columbus State Community College is inviting those students to enroll at Columbus State, which offers many of the same programs, and is also offering individual $500 scholarships to ITT Tech and AST students making the transition, Columbus State spokesman David Wayne said.

but also boasts more than 50 years of stability and the lowest tuition in the region, spokesman David Wayne said.

Wayne says students should contact the college now in order to enroll for Spring Semester which starts Jan. 17.

Advisors will work with students to develop academic and financial plans that put them back on a path to graduation, he said.

Columbus State offers many of the same programs as ITT and AST, in fields like computer science, health and criminal justice.
