COLUMBUS – Members of the union that represents 4,000 teachers and other workers in the Columbus City Schools are taking it to the streets Wednesday to protest the practice of granting property tax abatements that the union and its allies say deprives the district of badly-needed revenue.
The members of the Columbus Education Association and supporters will march from the Columbus Fire Fighters Union Hall in Franklinton through streets along the Scioto Mile to City Hall where they will hold a noon rally to protest property tax abatements and to demand better wages.
The march is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
