COLUMBUS – Crews were scheduled to return to the Kokosing River in Knox County Wednesday morning to resume the search for a 15-year-old Columbus boy who went missing while swimming Tuesday afternoon.
The boy, whose name was not released, had been in the area with two other teens and an adult when he disappeared, Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer said.
Deputies responded to the area of Honey Run Park near Millwood at approximately 3:28 p.m., where the boy was reported missing.
Boat crews and divers from Eastern Knox County Fire District, Fredericktown Fire Department, and Coshocton County searched the area for nearly five hours before suspending the search for the night, Shaffer said.
