COLUMBUS – The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy on the body of a 47-year-old Mexican construction worker whose body was found in the bedroom of a mobile home near Marysville Wednesday morning.
UPDATE: Although the official ruling of death will be determined by Union County Coroner David Applegate, Sheriff Jamie Patton said Friday morning that the stab wound suffered by Rafael Cruz and evidence collected at the scene “appear to be consistent with a suicide”.
Union County Sheriff’s and units from the Marysville Fire Department responding to a report of a dead man in a mobile home at New Dover Estates, 11480 U.S. Route 36 at approximately 7:10 a.m., found the body of Rafael Cruz, a 47-year-old Mexican national, in a back bedroom, Sheriff Jamie Patton said.
Patton says his office got a 911 call reporting a man “with blood around his head” in one of the units at the mobile home park located partway between Marysville and Ostrasnder.
Cruz was employed by Hogenson Construction of North Dakota, Inc. and was believed to be working at the new Heritage Cooperative Marysville Ag Campus and Research Farm located on Scottslawn Road, Patton said.
