COLUMBUS – The Franklin County Coroner’s Office is reporting another surge of overdose deaths.
During a 24-hour period ending Monday morning, Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz says her office recorded eight overdose deaths.
Four of the deaths were reported in the Whitehall area while the others were occurred on the East and Northeast Sides and in the Westgate area of the Hilltop on the West Side.
Ortiz encourages anyone with an addiction or a family member or friend who is a drug user to go to the Columbus Public Health Department website for help with resources for the anti-overdose drug naloxone (narcan), fentanyl testing strips and for a list of addiction treatment providers.
