COLUMBUS – COSI will reopen next month after being closed since the middle of March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The science museum downtown will reopen for COSI members on July 8 and to the general public on July 15 with safety and hygiene guidelines in effect.
Guests must reserve a timed admission ticket online in advance to ensure adequate space inside COSI to allow for social distancing, staff and guests ages 8 and over will be required to wear face coverings, guests will be required to visit a hand sanitizer station as they enter and hand sanitizer stations have been placed at high-touch surfaces and near hands-on exhibits throughout the museum.
Any guests exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, or those who have come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 14 days are asked not to visit until they are well.
Enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols have been put in place to ensure the building and interactive exhibitions remain as clean as possible.
Due to restricted spaces, some exhibits will remain closed, including the National Geographic Giant Screen Theater, the Planetarium, the Gadgets Stage, the Motion Simulator, the High-Wire Unicycle, the Submarine and the Alvinsphere in the Ocean exhibition; and the Mercury Capsule in the Space exhibition.
COSI will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
COSI has extended the run of the ¡Cuba! exhibition in the American Museum of Natural History Special Exhibition Gallery through January 3 and the DC SUPER HEROES: Discover Your Superpowers exhibition has been extended through Sept. 7.
